Doug Hahn was the first band member, joining his wife in the vision to reach a confused world with the news that Jesus died just for them . Their goal is to see each and every person on the face of the planet come to heaven with them. Doug was raised in Boulder, Colorado and at a young age believed the lie 'that we should go for the gusto'. He got into drugs and traveled around the states, with a bedroll and guitar, calling himself "a seeker of the truth." As he was seeking, the drugs left him empty and the truth was not to be found in the cults of the world. February 17, 1976 Doug found Christ through the "Lib House" an out reach of the Faith Center in Eugene, Ore.
On July 28, 1989 he met his wife, Caroline, as he traveled through Montana. On October 7 they were married, knowing that they would have some kind of a ministry for the young . Slowly but surely God put his hands upon their life and a band was formed, Scarlet Rose.
Phil Tesone grew up in Longmont, Colorado with the strong desire to reach people with music. He joined his first professional band after high school, which led him to a disastrous, unfulfilling lifestyle. After trying to fill his heart with everything imaginable that goes with Rock-n-roll and the bar scene, he ended up finding the Rock that doesn't Roll, With Jesus at the helm, Phil found that his music does have a purpose; sharing Christ.
Doug and Phil compose and record all their original music, their talents blend together to produced a unique style for both young and old.
THE STUDIO
What about the studio?
Scarlet rose Studio is available for multi-track on-site sound recording of your choir, praise band or special function. We have a Tascam 38 8-track reel to reel which is synched to a MIDI sequencer when more tracks are needed. We feature the new AKG C-3000 studio microphone for Hi fi vocals, as well as a full selection of Shure, Peavey, and Audio Technica mics. for general use. We utilize Alesis Quadraverbs for digital effects, and Alesis compressors for clarity and separation. Topping off the list of featured equipment is the ES- 300 Sony DAT machine for digital mix down. Mastering is done 'in house' as well as cover design and artwork, we use Jackson Sound in Denver for all our tape and CD duplication work. Scarlet Rose is striving to be a one stop center for Christian sound recording...from concept to completion!
